Projects signal to employers that you know your stuff! You’ll build an impressive portfolio of projects that demonstrate your abilities. The Live Classes plan includes the projects below, while the Project Help / Tutoring plan includes these and help with your own custom project.

Project 1: Backtesting Your Options Strategy

In this project you will download and analyze options data, and see whether it will be something that could potentially make you money when run live. Backtesting is important to help you understand how your strategy could perform in the future based on historical data. This is a unique way to make sure that your strategies will be profitable; most people just run options strategies live, not knowing what the outcome will be, we will help you to make sure that the outcome is profit. 

Project 2: Building a Live Options Trading Robot

Option trading is complicated and time consuming. We will help you to automate your strategies so that you don’t have to use your options calculators all day long. Trying to figure out which strategy to use, strike price, expiry date, etc. is complicated, but software can make this easy. By the end of this project you will have a robot that automates all this for you, based on rules that are tested and proven to be profitable.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

NATHAN MILLER

Nathan is a full-time trader and algo trading developer. He began his journey in quant finance manually trading his own custom trading systems in college. These systems proved successful enough for him to trade independently full-time after graduation, avoiding the typical entry-level Finance path. Upon seeking to expand his skill set, he learned to code with the intention of optimizing, backtesting, and automating his own trading systems. After doing so, opportunities arose to develop strategies for other traders and institutions.

Nathan has now developed hundreds, if not thousands of strategies for clients ranging from small retail traders to heads of multi-billion dollar hedge funds. If a strategy exists, he likely has developed code for it.

As a trader first and developer second, Nathan has made a name for himself in the quant community as someone who approaches algorithmic trading through the lens of a trader/investor rather than a standard computer programmer.
