Why Options Trading Using Algorithms?

We all know that options trading can be very profitable, but complicated. Imagine using software to test and automate all of your strategies, automatically trading and making you profits day in and out. Straddles, strangles, covered calls and more can be automated to make you money even when you’re on the couch watching your favorite tv show. Projects signal to employers that you know your stuff! You’ll build an impressive portfolio of projects that demonstrate your abilities. The Live Classes plan includes the projects below, while the Project Help / Tutoring plan includes these and help with your own custom project.

Project 1: Backtesting Your Options Strategy

In this project you will download and analyze options data, and see whether it will be something that could potentially make you money when run live. Backtesting is important to help you understand how your strategy could perform in the future based on historical data. This is a unique way to make sure that your strategies will be profitable; most people just run options strategies live, not knowing what the outcome will be, we will help you to make sure that the outcome is profit. 

Project 2: Building a Live Options Trading Robot

Option trading is complicated and time consuming. We will help you to automate your strategies so that you don’t have to use your options calculators all day long. Trying to figure out which strategy to use, strike price, expiry date, etc. is complicated, but software can make this easy. By the end of this project you will have a robot that automates all this for you, based on rules that are tested and proven to be profitable.

With a long history in financial services, Neil has led technology teams creating financial planning software applications for a national bank branch network, acted as Vice President Operations for an American online bank, and was COO of a startup creating a perishable commodities exchange in Europe. He has been a retail investment advisor and reviewed money managers for client recommendations.
